THE CAMPAIGN

campaign Sometimes we spend so much time caring about “issues”, that we forget to care about the people most affected by these issues. The conversation, as a result, excludes the majority of Americans who would be more inclined to engage on a human level rather than on an abstract one.

As Corner Store has developed as a film, the filmmakers have realized that it is not only an emotionally engaging narrative, but also a compelling product for those striving to socially address the very issues that make the story so moving. Part of what the Campaign can offer its partners is a carefully crafted, yet real life, example of the interplay of all of these issues, encouraging the advocates involved to cross-engage with each other: on panels, on new project launches, and in new media formats.

THE GOALS

To Utilize: The Corner Campaign will utilize the film as a tool to further both the pre-existing initiatives and campaigns being waged by various non-profit organizations and to create new and exciting initiatives with these groups.

To Expose: The Corner Campaign will expose the realities connecting the sounds and images in the film with the educational resources and news updates of its partners.

To Connect: The Corner Campaign will reconnect the issues with the humans affected by these issues by creating and promoting a variety of activities with its partners.

To Activate: The Corner Campaign will provide a catalyst for further education and action surrounding the issues developed in the film.

THE PARTNERS

kidphoneThe filmmakers are developing relationships with a variety of organizations and groups who are interested in participating in the Campaign including cultural centers, peace advocacy organizations, and small business associations.

Each partner will help to connect the film with new audiences and will in return be able to utilize the film as a powerful and engaging tool to widen and deepen their constituencies’ connection to their work.
